"Don’t worry about people stealing your design work. Worry about the day they stop" – Jeffrey Zeldman
InDesign is a page layout /publishing program mainly used for and by businesses. This program allows both vector and raster based images. InDesign is used to create magazine spreads, note pad layout, text logos, brochures, resume, letters, newspaper, etc.. As students, we use InDesign a lot to write thank you letters and create magazine layouts. I’ve had a lot of fun using this program because it’s the only program we use that allows both vector and raster images. Using InDesign I can manipulate text, photos, and vector images.
Flyer
Designing this flyer, I had to know the size, margins, and columns. The flyer I created, the margins, gutter, and columns were 0.187, 0.375, and 2. I had to use math to get the gutter size correctly. When making a new document, the settings have to be changed to the size needed. For example; I had to times two by the number of margins to get the gutter which is the little indents on a flyer to make the paper fold in. I tried to stick with same amount of colors given like blues, red, and black so it looked more clean and organized. I also tried to line up the photos with each other and keep them close to have less blank/negative space.

Two page layout
NotePad Layout
|
Designing a two-page layout was one of the most difficult things I learned over the past seven months I have been in this class. It started with drawing thumbnail sketches and then coming up with the best layout that will work best with my photos. Once I got the photos where I wanted them and all the text, my teacher suggested I should put a ghost behind the article so it would be more readable. I used a more blackletter typography for my title to make it more eye catching and grab your attention along with the headline which I used a serif style font.
